Since Elliot was born on Easter, this was his second celebration before turning one. I, of course, had to work. But Friday night we went to the Dyers’ home for a Good Friday/ early Easter celebration. Auntie Linzy and Uncle Ian were there, and Lisa, Hunter, and Kyra drove for 10 hours from their vacation just to get to see Elliot! We had a yummy dinner and some delicious cupcakes. Elliot searched for eggs in the dinning room, and every time he found one he took the old one out of his basket and replaced it with the new one! A couple of days ago when he was making eggs with Gam Gam and Logan he apparently stomped on one, which made them laugh so hard that it scared Elliot!
The next day, I went to go work in the ER while Logan and Elliot loaded up with Uncle Tom to go to Tullahoma. My relatives were reported quite pleased that Logan went ahead a brought Elliot to see them.
Elliot got a cozy truck and apparently played outside in the nice weather without a break well past nap time.
Also, Elliot and Logan dressed alike.
He got a picture with the Easter bunny the next day.
My daddy came up to Knoxville with Tom on Sunday night and drove me back to Tullahoma after I got done working at 8PM. I took the next few days off work so I could at least celebrate a late Easter with my Elly Belly. It was nearly midnight by the time we got to Tullahoma. That night Elliot had the nicest dream where he was sad and his mommy appeared and gave him some of his very favorite breast milk.
Monday, Sarah came over and took some 1 year pictures. Claudie came too! She and Elliot had a lot of fun playing together!
We went with Gingy to lunch and did a little shopping. Elliot got some new shoes and a funny apron that says “Chef in Training.” I pulled a funny prank on the Facebook where I told everyone I was pregnant with Elliot’s sibling. Some friends were skeptical, but the joke became a success when my chief resident emailed to make sure I wasn’t pregnant in case they needed to rewrite the schedule. Hahaha!
We stopped by and saw the Colliers. Elliot got to meet the horse, Dusty, and giggled when Dusty breathed on him.
That evening, Elliot’s great grandparents came over for late Easter supper. I woke Elliot up from a nap which made him kind of fussy. He did enjoy my mom’s rabbit cake! He went outside that evening to hunt for Easter eggs, which he enjoyed a lot more once he figured out there was candy inside!
Tuesday, Grandpa stayed home from work and we decorated Easter cookies while Elliot took a nap.
That evening we had the Colliers over for Suzanne’s birthday. Elliot got to stay up late a watch some of the lady Vols vs Louisville game. My dad was torn… Sort of.
We headed out in the morning today, since everyone was at work. It was very nice to get away for a few days and play with Elliot. I wish I could be around more. This year (and specifically the last month) has been rough. I know Elliot is generally happy and well cared for. I hope that he doesn’t miss his mommy too much… I know I miss him!
