I used this pattern for the mermaid costume and this pattern for the crown!
Also, happy 1 week to Charlotte!

We are so excited for Linzy and Ian! Happy birthday Charlotte Olivia!
Elliot can’t wait to play with his first first cousin!

Also, at 5 lbs 4 oz, Elliot is literally 5 times bigger than Charlotte! And if I am 5 times bigger than Elliot, then that makes me 25 times bigger than Charolotte. Wow! Charlotte is 4% my size! That’s tiny!
Elliot went to his first football game last week. It was Logan’s high school homecoming. Elliot enjoyed all of the pageantry. He also like the Mellow Mushroom Pizza!
Saturday, Elliot got to go to his first someone else’s birthday party. The theme was Pirates and Princesses, so Logan and I dressed him accordingly. It was rather difficult to get him to keep the hat on his head.
Gingy and Grandpa came up that night in preparation for our trip to Washington D.C. Logan, Elliot, and I dressed up for dinner, thinking that we would be going to the Boo at the Zoo afterwards. Unfortunately, we missed the Boo (boohoo?) but we still enjoyed dinner at Calhoun’s.
The next morning, Gingy, Grandpa, Elliot, and I began our drive to D.C. Elliot handled the drive well, needing only a couple of comfort stops.
I had to go to a class all week, but Elliot enjoyed the sites of D.C. and the surrounding area with his grandparents.
On Monday, they went to Mt. Vernon, home of George Washington.
On Tuesday, they went to Alexandria. Elliot really liked the planes!
On Wednesday, they went to Fort Frederick, where Elliot saw a choo choo and a canon!
On Thursday, the government reopened, but Elliot and grandparents decided to stay in the Silver Spring area with mommy! They found a playground in the morning and I got to go eat lunch with them at a little deli! Then Elliot took a huge nap to make up for all the naps he missed this week.
On Friday, Elliot, Gingy, and Grandpa finally got to go see the monuments of D.C. Elliot begins with a sit in at the front of the White House.
And what trip to Washington would be complete without a stop at Ben and Jerry’s in the Old Post Office Building?
The day was made complete with a brief tour of the Natural History Museum.
Saturday morning, Gingy and Grandpa bravely took Elliot on his first flight back to Knoxville. I was glad that they could come with me to D.C. It was nice to be able to spend some quality time with the boy in the evenings and I know they enjoyed taking him to see all the sights during the day!
I took today off and Elliot, Logan, and I found a nice park on Martin Mill and had a nice picnic lunch.
Logan – “He’s outstanding in his field!”
Elliot had his 18 month check up this afternoon and had to get four shots… But he did great! He cried when the nurse stuck him and I hugged him tight and said I was sorry. Then he got over it right away, like it never happened. I was so proud. My brave sweet boy! He also gave the doctor a fist bump!
Tonight, I found a way to get him to let me brush his teeth really well. I put a toothbrush in my mouth and let him brush my teeth while I brushed his. Logan tells me he does something similar with brushing his hair where they take turns styling each other.
What a difference a year makes! Here is an awesome blooper video from last year’s trip to Gulf Shores…

Logan and Elliot went to feed the ducks while mommy worked…
Elliot and his cute Halloween monkey from Aunt Betty Lynn and Uncle Kent!
Elliot has been saying “Me” recently and Logan did not know what he meant until a couple of days ago when he showed him a picture of us and Elliot pointed to me, as in “Mom-Me!” Yay!
I finally got to spend some time with the boy this weekend. Elliot and I even dressed the same!
Elliot and I went out for lunch yesterday at the cheesecake factory with some of my co-workers and their kids.
Elliot was pretty well behaved, but he was pretty tired by the time the meal was complete. We had to run out at one point late in the meal to get some stuff for Logan out of my car to give to Aunt Lisa. Elliot cried to stay with Aunt Lisa! He was ready to go. So we headed home for nap time, which ended up being rather short since he fell asleep in the car and woke some with the transfer to the crib.
As far as new baby tricks, Elliot recently started opening doors. As a result, many of the doors are now baby proofed.
