Introducing… Elliot and Winston!

Born April 2012 and May 2015

Quick trip to Asheville

Last weekend we made a quick trip to Asheville. I finished up another night float week. Gingy and grandpa took Elliot on ahead while I worked Friday. Tom took Gingy to make her vary own blown glass vase for her birthday present.

The place we stayed did not have a tub so Elliot had a sink bath.

Cleaning up

Now that Elliot does not require constant entertainment, Logan and I have noticed that we spend more and more time picking up after the boy. Our house unfailingly looks like the kid bomb went off. However, we learned the other day from Aunt Lisa that Elliot can be put to work.

Lisa: “I told him to make himself useful”

Lisa: “He tried to sit down, but I informed him he skipped the hardwood.”

Lisa: “Boy I don’t care if you are tired, WORK” Haha!

So we tried to enlist his help in some yard work today.

He and Logan did have to take a football break.

Addendum: Now he is helping with the groceries too!

Finally! A Butt Buster!

Here ya go, Gingy!

Tonight, Elliot played outside for almost an hour. He ran around the yard in bare feet, occaisionally tripped and fell, but had a blast. The only thing he didn’t like was that I would not let him play in the road. We are working on boundaries…

At Elliot’s bath tonight, I showed him how to make a balloon with a washcloth, which he thought hilarious!

Also, we had some fun at Mama’s Farmhouse last weekend.

We also went for a walk on the Pigeon Forge River Walk. Elliot liked playing with the BOB more than riding in it…

Happy 11 months!

For Elliot’s 11 month birthday, he got his lovely Aunt Lisa to come and be his nanny! It makes him soooo happy! He is excited to see her and sad when it is time to go. She is also good about working with him on his development.

Monday morning, Elliot got into his reserve diapers in the closet. He spread them out all over the floor and played with them. Then he decided to put them up in his diaper hanger on the other side of the room. He is so smart! Once that got full, he started stacking them on his diaper genie.

On Tuesday, Elliot had his first juice box, which he promptly squeezed, squirting juice all over himself and he tray. He would chew on the straw, drink a sip, and them open his mouth. I’m not sure that he actually consumed any of the liquid, but he had fun!

He can hold this now and drink from it!

On Wednesday, Logan got some new porch chairs. Elliot enjoyed the cushions!

Armageddon, anyone?

I have been working waaaaay too much lately. What with the night float and weekends I haven’t had much of a day off recently. I miss my Elly Belly. I had a revelation the other day while I was feeding Elliot in the middle of the night this week, which I shared with Logan.

Me: “That Aerosmith song, “Don’t wanna miss a thing” from Armaggeddon, might be about a parent child relationship.”
Logan: “Oh, you mean that song that Steven Tyler wrote… for his daughter?”
Me: “Yes, that one.”
