Hard to believe!

Logan got out your jumping horse recently for Char Baby. You had to try it out again too!

The weather has finally been getting nice again, so Logan set up your water toys on the back porch. Lisa let you pick out a hat to wear, so you picked your daddy’s Titan’s hat!

You are fitting into your new pjs from Jeanie-bug!

Daddy took you to the zoo this week for the first time this season. The bears are the first exhibit, but Logan skipped them and took you to the elephants first, where you said “Bear.” Then he took you to the giraffes, where you said “Bear” again. So, he took you pack to the front of the museum so you could see the exhibits in order.

Here’s you and Strawberry watching “Thomas and Friends” this week!

We took you to the Hands on Science Center in Tullahoma this week! Daddy beat a Cheetah. You were a bug!

Here you are walking on in the woods with Gingy!

Funny story: Earlier this week you were looking at your spoon at dinner and trying to convey to us that the spoon was not a fork. You kept saying “Fork! no…” only the “Fork” didn’t sound like fork… Daddy and I thought that was pretty funny!

Toga Toga!

Kyra had a toga surprise party for her birthday this year! He looked like a cherub!

IMG_5649 IMG_5652 IMG_5656_1 IMG_5648 IMG_5658

We have been playing Mario 3D World in the evenings for about 20-30 minutes and Elliot watches (and sometimes posts). We were playing a couple of nights ago and after one level, Elliot was done and had run off to the other room. But the next level had a train on it, so I called out “Elliot you are going to miss the CHOO CHOO!” He starts screaming and runs back in the room like he was on fire or something. He did not want to miss that choo choo!

The other day, Logan was driving and Elliot shouted “Yell mmm” and then “fries,” so I guess he knows what McDonald’s looks like!

Here he is on mommy’s birthday!

Also, here he is on the snow day the week before last. I ended up staying at the hospital. Eliot and Logan went to Gam Gam’s!

These are some good recent photos too. The third picture is him in a firetruck!

Today we switched Elliot’s room and the guest room so hopefully I won’t wake him up so frequently in the morning when I am getting ready for work.

Out SHIDE!

Elliot finally got to spend some time outside this weekend! He got a little muddy, but it didn’t slow him down.

Also, we got to visit some of Logan’s family today at his Granny’s.

Baby Char was there too, looking fabulous!  It was great to see her (and her family)!

At one point, I was outshide the screen door with Elliot and Logan was on the other side with Charlotte. Logan handed me Charlotte while Elliot was horsing around my legs. Logan shut the screen door and Elliot’s fingers were questionably caught. Either way, Elliot screamed. And then Charlotte REALLY screamed! He scared her and I said to Logan, “Pick a child and start comforting!”

Funny story with Daddy

Elliot and Logan were in the dairy section of Food City. Elliot was walking by the coolers and touching each carton along the way, saying “malk… malk… malk.” Then he noticed a slightly different bottle and he turned to Logan stunned and exclaimed “Malk Choc!”

“It comes in Chocolate?!?!?!”

Funny story with Slappy

So I am getting this story 2nd and 3rd hand from Logan and Slappy but hopefully the details will be close to accurate. Logan, Aunt Linzy, Slappy, Elliot, and Charlotte went out on Tuesday to shop and visit Granny. Logan and Linzy went into a store and briefly left their children in the capable hands of Slappy in Slappy’s truck. Whilst they were gone, Charlotte was rolling her head and bumped in into something causing her to cry. At the same time, Elliot managed to put on Linzy’s big Old Navy Lady glasses and was attempting to extract his blanket from the door, his face turning red and all the while screaming “Night night! stuck!”

“That sounds hilarious! Did you get a picture?” I asked Slappy, to which he replied, “I barely survived!”

Linzy sent this picture as an idealistic representation of the afternoon.

“Good babies”

The Toddler bed is still an issue, although becoming less so. Logan and I are able to get him to sleep if we lie with him for only ~25 minutes, instead of the hour it was at first. He still screams at us for awhile, which conveniently makes him tired and seems to help him go to sleep but does not do much for our parenting egos. Hopefully things will continue to improve.

“He did that himself. I just tucked the blankets in around him some.” – Logan

Elliot will always remember how much his Slappy liked Monster Trucks!

Happy 20 months, my dear boy!

We got our photos with Santa today!

IMG_5345q

Elliot is at this age.

IMG_5346q

I truly did try to coach him all morning. I told him the story of Santa Claus and showed him his picture from last year. Nevertheless, when the time came, the “stranger danger” instinct kicked in, which I guess is really a good thing.

He did get to do some fun things while we were at the zoo today. He made a wreath with Mommy, saw some chickens with Daddy, and played around in a tunnel… What could be better?!?!

In other news, for the record Logan and I have lost our sanity and are trying for kid number two (or at least not preventing). Hopefully, by the time next kid gets here we will be ready… Elliot needs a camping buddy!

Also, Daddy and Elliot have been working on this!

Boy Uncaged

Thanks to Elliot’s new milestone, for safety Logan has converted Elliot’s bed from a crib to a toddler bed.

20131125_161344

So now at night we play the “Put Elliot to bed and wait by the door to put him in bed again game.”
20131125_161750

He really likes being able to climb in and out of his bed easily. When he stayed at Gam Gam’s this weekend, he reportedly woke up and was very mad that he was in a pack and play again… like stomping his foot mad. So Logan put him in bed with him for the rest of the night. You can probably guess where I was… on call.

He does actually sleep pretty well in the converted bed once he gets to sleep. He did get up at 3AM a couple of nights ago though and come into our room. He stood by my side of the bed shouting “Me! Me! Me!” then he went to Da’s side and said “Da! Da! Da!” Da let him in bed with us, where he kicked us for awhile and then settled down long enough for Logan to get him back in his bed.

I’ve laid down with him in his toddler bed a couple of times now to help encourage him to go to sleep. Aside from the kicking and swatting, he is a very cuddly bundle of boy!

Come on Ride the Train, and Ride it! Choo Choo!

If you feel like Grumpin’… It’s up to you!

Elliot has really been into trains lately. He loves watching Thomas on Netflix and playing with his take and play toy engines that he and his daddy have been collecting. This weekend, we took him to the Track in Pigeon Forge to let him ride the train.

http://youtu.be/jdZn6b38WUY

He really likes watching these videos of himself on the train!

Slappy took a ride on a train with Elliot as well.

Today, Logan got Elliot a big table for his trains. Here is his reaction!

B is for Bonaroo

and L is for Lessons Learned…

We learned that Bonaroo is a very warm and crowded place, and not really suitable for babies. Logan kept Elliot at home while Gingy, Grandpa, Art, and I discovered this for ourselves.
IMG_3034

We saw the amazing Paul McCartney (B is for Beatle), but little else. The next day, Logan and I went back and saw The Tallest Man on Earth, who incidentally had the Tallest Audience on Earth. Then we were pretty much done with the Bonaroo experience. Next time, mega RV with AC and bathrooms and VIP passes…

Elliot and me in our souvenir Beatles shirts.

On Sunday, Elliot taught me another lesson. We were washing the cars and Elliot was playing around in the driver’s seat. We soon discovered that he had locked us out… and the keys were of course in the cup holder! I attempted to coach Elliot on how to open the car door while Grandpa went to try to find a spare key. Neither effort was a success. Fortunately, I remembered a secret spare key. I extracted Elliot from the car and told him that he was banned from the driver’s seat until he turns 15. He was soooooo mad.

Also, tomorrow I will be 353 months old. So yay!

Happy 11 months!

For Elliot’s 11 month birthday, he got his lovely Aunt Lisa to come and be his nanny! It makes him soooo happy! He is excited to see her and sad when it is time to go. She is also good about working with him on his development.

IMG951229

Monday morning, Elliot got into his reserve diapers in the closet. He spread them out all over the floor and played with them. Then he decided to put them up in his diaper hanger on the other side of the room. He is so smart! Once that got full, he started stacking them on his diaper genie.
IMG_20130304_074322

On Tuesday, Elliot had his first juice box, which he promptly squeezed, squirting juice all over himself and he tray. He would chew on the straw, drink a sip, and them open his mouth. I’m not sure that he actually consumed any of the liquid, but he had fun!

He can hold this now and drink from it!
IMG_20130305_154505

On Wednesday, Logan got some new porch chairs. Elliot enjoyed the cushions!
IMG_20130304_142540

Today, Elliot put this together!

Happy 11 months, baby boy! I can’t believe you are almost a year old!
