We had a great time at Granddaddy’s Farm this year!
First we got some food. Then we went for a slide!
We jumped on a big bubble and wandered in a corm maze.
Then we played in a big pile of corn!
We got an apple cider slushie and the went on a hay ride!
Elliot got a green pumpkin! It should turn orange before Halloween!
We’ve been sick this week so I am a little behind on posting. I’ll post about our adventures last weekend and go back and post about Cabin in the Mountains later.

My friend Jessica came by for a visit last week. She and Elliot spent sometime catching up!

We went up to Knoxville last weekend on our way to Charleston for our vacation. We had a picnic in the mountains.

We went on a beach picnic that night with our friends the Bourgeois! We forgot the kids swimsuits, but fortunately Davis was kind enough to give us a couple of his!
The next morning we had more fun at the beach!
We went to Page’s Okra Grill for lunch and Logan got a pretty awesome bloody mary.
We went for a walk along Market Street. Here is a picture of a place I ate at the last time I came to Charleston.

We went to Patriot Point and Fort Sumter the next day. Elliot’s favorite part was the ferry ride home.
We got back Friday evening after stretching a 6 hour drive into 9. We went to the camp ground the next day to play with Charlotte!
We went to the Hatfield and McCoy dinner show that evening. Elliot got to get up on stage and dance!
We went to a baby shower for Aunt Linzy and her boys Hank and Ollie on Sunday. Winston had fun meeting lots of people. Elliot only stayed for the food!
Elliot had his first day of school today! Winston has been going for a few hours a day for the past couple of weeks but today Elliot got to go. His reports on the experience were generally favorable. But they did try to make him nap. Not to sure that is going to work for “the boy who does not sleep!”
Here we are at 2 months. Time flies! Winston is holding his head up well. His alertness has also increased. Plus he has moved up to 3-6 month clothes. Mommy went to work Wednesday and Thursday and Winston reportly took the bottle pretty well.
Last Saturday we went to Gingy’s and took Elliot and Winston to their first drive-in movie, “Inside Out.” We sat in the back end of the van with a bunch of blankies and got comfy. Elliot made it about halfway through before he fell asleep. Not too bad!
Sunday, Gam Gam and Slappy came to visit. We showed them around our new town quickly before they had to head back.
Monday, daddy had CLE so mommy was on her own with the boys. Gingy came up to help. After spending the morning frantically looking for child care in Nashville we went to the Adventure Science Center!

The next day, Logan had another round of CLE. The boys and I went on a whirlwind tour of child care facilities. Actually, we only had a tour scheduled at 1. I just dropped off the application to the the other two. They would not let me look at the facilities without scheduling a tour. It was interesting to see the facility that we did tour. They had 8 babies in one room with a couple of nannies and they had all kinds of bouncy chairs and cribs and things to keep the babies happy. It was interesting to see how it works. We also saw an older kids room and Elliot jumped right in and started playing. Unfortunately, the wait list was over a year for infants, which seems to be a problem that I’m running into over and over again.
Anyways, we got some hot dogs!
We also found a cool playground with a giant dragon! I believe that this playground was around when my brother Tom was born my brother Arthur and I played on it then.
There was also a completely wheelchair accessible playground nearby.
There are some friendly squirrels in the park, to which we fed some of our leftover french fries. Elliot did not quite understand the technique of throwing the French fry towards the squirrel and kept insisting on trying to give the fry to the squirrel. Of course the squirrels ran, and it was really cute watching Elliot chase after them with the French fries.
As we were leaving the playground, Elliot really wanted to climb through this pipe.
By the time I caught up to him on the other side, he was already doing this.
Winston slept.
The next day, mommy started work and daddy took the boys to Gingy’s. Thursday daddy was own his own. He texted us, “Thanks technology”.

And happy 4th of July!
Logan and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary this year. To celebrate, we took a fun trip with the kids to Dollywood!
Elliot enjoyed his usual rides and I got to experience the excellent Dollywood nursing facilities. No joke, they were great! We also bought the world’s biggest double doozie cookie.
That evening, we got a Smoky Mountain Brewery Pizza and went up to Camp LeConte to camp. Logan and I had a little wine to celebrate. Elliot jumped on the bed and Winston swung on the swing to celebrate.
That night, I slept in a queen size bed with Winston and Logan and Elliot slept in the other queen sized bed. Happy anniversary!
The next day, we went to check out the “Boomba.”

When I was a kid, my parents used to take me and my brothers up to Pigeon Forge to celebrate their anniversary too. My mom called it a celebration of our family. We had a great time celebrating our family with our two sweet boys! It was fun to carry on that tradition!
Well that went by fast! Here we are at one month and I have barely posted. I actually have written Winston’s birth story post but I need to add the pictures to it. Blogging for two is challenging.
Anyways, so far things have been pretty great. Winston had been a bit more fussy the past few days but overall had been a great baby. He does eat a lot though. Currently, he is on the almost two hour breastfeeding program. He sleeps beside me in the bassinet at night, and instead of crying, he wakes me with grunting when he is hungry.
Elliot is adjusting pretty well. He did ask if Winston could “go back to his house” early on. I explained that this is his home now and Elliot has not brought it up again. A few weeks ago I had to leave the room while Winston was in the bassinet and Elliot was on our bed. Winston started crying so Elliot brought him several unopened bottles of formula and a pacifier and sat then in his bed. It was a great try!
We went back to Gingy’s over the weekend.
We took Elliot to the lake and Logan wad a good sport and got in the chill water with him.
We built a swing set for Elliot and someday Winston. Mostly Logan and grandpa worked on it but I think everyone contributed.
Yesterday we went to Gam Gam’s and Elliot played with Charlotte and Knizley.
Winston watched.
At one month, Winston is holding his head up surprisingly well.
We went to the doctor today and Winston got a shot. He had some food right afterwards to take his mind off of it and did fine. Now he is just relaxing.
Being a baby is hard work.
We had some friends over for Winston’s one month day.
Elliot had a friend to play with too!

We took a quick trip to Savannah last weekend, which took about 12 hours of driving over 4 days. The boys did really well!

The trip was also Winston’s first trip to Gingy’s.

Tuesday night, my in-laws threw a surprise shower for Winston! Logan was not surprised despite of his expression in the picture.
We got many essential items including diapers and wipers, as well as a few cute outfits!
Elliot and Charlotte enjoyed the shower too!
My very sweet co-workers threw a baby shower for me and Winston. Elliot got to come too as did their children. We had a blast!
